Is It Possible To Keep A Spirit Of joy Always?
All Christians can keep a spirit of joy always, but they have to cultivate it and make it come alive in their lives so that even in the bad times they can experience peace.
Joy is one of the fruits of the spirit so we’re able to grow it within our hearts
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) 22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Inner Peace and Contentment Create A Spirit Of Joy
Listen to what Peter has to say on the subject in 1 Peter 1:5-7. His encouragement will help us to remember what to focus upon to continue in peace.
1 Peter 1:5-6 5. Who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Regardless of what you may be going through today, you need to rejoice. Peter says in verse 6, “In this you greatly rejoice, even if for a season you are experiencing various trials.”
Always keep your sense of humor, and if you don’t have one, it will help you to develop one. They’re a great asset and it only takes a moment to get it going. It is actually by the will that we laugh or choose to be thankful and happy so it’s not something that is impossible to do. It’s really quite easy.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (KJV) 16. Rejoice evermore. 17. Pray without ceasing. 18. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
To keep a spirit of joy comes easily as we thank and praise God during difficult times. This releases our faith and trust in God that we know He is always working on behalf. Giving God this trust actually gives God the opportunity to make difficult situations turn into wonderful blessings, not just for us but for those around us.
As we take the attitude that we are always abundantly blessed, God’s blessings will be poured down upon us. So practice joy everyday, even when things aren’t going so well, and then when things look really bleak, you’ll know what to do: praise and thank God for the moment because you’ll know that He is going to turn your difficulty into a great blessing!
Laugh, smile, be thankful through all things, even if you are going through the roughest patch you have ever been through. Do not let your trials rob you, always keep a spirit of joy by practicing joy throughout your busy day. When you really need it, you’ll find the peace of God that passes all understanding to quiet your soul and keep you in Jesus Christ.
