Living abundantly is possible through Jesus Christ. You can receive God’s blessings by acknowledging and being thankful for what you already have.
Thankfulness Leads To Life Abundant
As Christians we’ve been blessed with salvation, which gives us the ability to grow closer to God and to be like Jesus because of His work on the cross. And according to the Word we have the ability to receive all of God’s blessings. So if you think you have nothing to be thankful for, you actually have everything you could want at your disposal by faith.
We have perfect and divine health and healing, soundness of mind, financial prosperity, peace, joy, success, and a special ability to accomplish God’s will for our lives. And we have been given rest!
However, we won’t receive from God if we have doubt or fear that God will provide what we need and want. Harboring negative emotions and thinking will keep you distant from God because you must experience what you want first by faith, according to Mark 11:24, with an attitude of thankfulness throughout your day. God cannot work in an atmosphere of negativity because it is not of Him.
God has provided abundant living in Christ that we are to take by faith.
The Bible says in Galatians 6:7, “Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” And in Proverbs 11:18 it says, “The wicked man does deceptive work, but he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.”
Always Give God The Glory!
So Then Why Do We Work So Hard to attain those things which we need or want when we have already been blessed with financial prosperity and material abundance?
It is because we have been conditioned to do things our way instead of God’s. We were never taught to look at God as our loving Father and provider, but instead to work hard daily just to survive and get by. However, this is not God’s best for us.
Ephesians 4:24 “And that ye put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
As Christians we should learn at salvation how to become the “new man in Christ” or “new creature in Christ” so that life won’t have to be a struggle.
However, many of our churches don’t guide their members into a life of Christ, they just preach salvation and leave the new Christian on their own. Over time many “baby Christians” turn a way from the Word, discouraged and unable to follow after the ways of Christ in order to make a deep rooted change.
They need instruction to cultivate their new life in Christ just as seeds are planted into the ground. It’s a process and it is a part of being a successful Christian.
You can begin the process of living abundantly by:
1. Thanking/praising God for what He has done and is doing for you.
2. Deciding to live in Christ
3. Following Him
4. Learn and obey the Word of God (Bible)
So if you’re in the midst of difficulty or you’re just disappointed with your life, you can begin to change your circumstances by first thanking and praising God right now for what you have today and who you are in Christ which is redeemed and sanctified. This is where your abundance in Christ begins.
If you can’t do this, then it will be difficult to manifest the spiritual and personal growth you desire to achieve, the ability to serve God at your utmost, and your ability to realize your dreams. This is
because you will always be working hard on our own ability instead of God’s ability in Christ.
Know That God’s Word Is For You No Matter What!
Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, “of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.”
You have no excuse not to be thankful and follow God’s Word because it is for YOU! No matter what you’ve done or what your background.
Before you you continue with Part II of Abundant Living in Christ study, I want you to take time to be thankful to God and begin the process of Godly abundance. Stand, kneel or sit and begin praising God in the name of Jesus Christ for all He has done for you and is doing today. Here are two scriptures that say we’re to rejoice and be thankful.
I Thessalonians 5:19 Rejoice evermore.
Philippians 4:6 “…with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
I do this, especially in difficult times to insure that I give God the ability to change my circumstances — and He does!
