Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.

Your Destiny Discovery For God's Plan

Proverbs 8:20-21  20. I (God's wisdom) lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment; 21. that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

Many Christians wonder why God would allow them to live boring lives with boring jobs they hate and that work them hard with little pay.  The truth is, this isn't God's will.  He is looking to bless every Christians with a glorious life that is financially secure.  This is why we must seek God's special will for our lives and not our own.

Waiting For guidance from God to live your destiny is an exciting process that will last for the rest of your life if you remain in partnership with Him. If you don't know how to approach God to learn His will for your life, there is a specific prayer that will open the door to the dreams He put into your heart at salvation.

Did You Know That Your Destiny Lies Within Your Hands, Not God's?

We do the walking or choosing to live God's call upon our lives. He will never force us or make everything happen for us without our alliance and willingness to serve and obey.

Obedience to God's will has great rewards.  Within each of us are great treasure that will shine to their fullest as we obey God and allow Him to empower us through our destinies.  But we always need to remember that we walk in God's power and not our own.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;

God is waiting to anoint and equip you for the work that He has given you, so at this moment He is waiting upon you.

But before you learn what God has designed for you, it's important that you understand that as you learn your special calling, you will need to continually seek after God's will for each step. It's just as important to remain in God's will as it is to discover God's will. It's easy to find out what God wants for us, but it's another to live it.

I say this because many times Christians will learn God's call for their lives and then begin the work on their own, even stepping out before they're equipped by God.  There is a time of waiting, and you need to learn to look to God for each step in patience.  His plan and timing for your will must be respected.

A good way to judge your heart to see how willing you are to obey what God asks of you is to ask yourself if you obey God's Word (the scriptures) as you learn it.

If you put off what God is telling us to do in the Bible or you flat out make a mental decision that you won't or can't do what Jesus teaches us to do in the New Testament, then you will have to work at being obedient to God's Word first before you can obey His guidance for life purpose. In Christ we have the power to do all things, so we can make the changes in ourselves that are necessary to obey God.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

God's will for your life is not a reflection of your desires, plans, pursuits, ambitions, past successes or failures. It's all about taking guidance from God to discover your special talents, develop them and use them for God.

"Lord, I desire your will over my will and I will always
give you the glory for your work through me."

1 Corinthians 7:17:  But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the churches

A major stumbling block for Christians living God's will throughout their lives is PRIDE. Many wonderful and sincere Christians have found it difficult to take further guidance from God once their ministries or businesses became a success. They took the path of taking credit for God's plan in their lives without giving Him the glory.

While God uses our talents, skills and abilities, He gives them His power and ability by the Holy Spirit. These were His dreams from before each person was even born. He gave us our talents and all that we're able to do, so all that we are and do should be for the glory of God.

It's also true that the human ego, which is prideful, can cause a Christian to not pay attention or acknowledge God's guidance and will at all, especially if they have found success in life on their own. Many Christians who have been high achievers since childhood find it difficult to lean upon God's Word and a deity which cannot be seen. Faith is a difficult concept for them, as well as taking leadership from others, especically God Who they cannot see.

Taking guidance from God is powerful and liberating. Christians only need to trust that God will develop them into men and women who will do the supernatural and the miraculous in their communities, towns and cities. On their own, they are subject to stress, failure and sometimes much trouble which can significantly alter their lives, as ego instead of God's Word rules their lives.

By allowing pride in what we can do over what God can do in us and through us in the name of Jesus Christ, we keep God at a distance, helpless from empowering us and giving us a life that is made in heaven.

When we come to realize that God will enhance our minds, talents, skills, productivity and business insight, we can see a perfect force above our own capabilities. It is one that will elevate each of us above the hardships of ministry or of doing business in the world against liars, dishonest business practices, unfair competition, sabotage, and financial ruin due to greed.

While we all have the capability to become successful on our own, we need to remind ourselves always that our highest calling is to live God's will and not our own. We must set aside the fear of letting God take over our lives, and also our pride that we alone can accomplish whatever we desire.

When tempted to turn away from God's plans for our lives, we need to ask ourselves the question, "what am I going to say when I stand before the Lord Jesus Christ and He asks me, "did you follow my plans for your life, or your own?

When I get caught up in my own work, I have to stand back and ask myself that same question to get myself on God's path. It's all about God and what He wants to do through each of us.

IF YOU'RE READY, IT'S TIME TO COMMIT TO GOD'S WILL, HIS WORK AND GOD'S WILL FOR YOUR LIFE:  Click on the Prayer of Consecration and Dedication that Jesus prayed before He was crucified on the cross.  The page will open in a new window so that you don't lose this study.

If you didn't say the prayer, continue with the lesson...

How To Hear God's Voice

The way to know God's will for sure is to not worry or fret over what or when you will hear from God. The important thing is that God knows all about you and all about what He wants you to do. So there is no way that your work will be lost unless you walk away from God or His will for you.

Stick with God in a peaceful and trusting attitude and He will make sure that you find out everything He wants you to know in the way He wants you to know it, and in the timing He wants you to have it!

While this process continues, remain in your employment or business. Don't quit what you're doing unless a change was already in motion before you began reading this study. As you learn to act on the little that God gives you, He will trust you with more information. You will hear God usually in a still, quiet voice from within your spirit.  Take time to be still and quiet and you'll learn to hear God speaking to you by the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 20:27  The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Develop Your Life Purpose!

Once you've committed your life to God's purpose, take the next step by doing the following and anything you believe God is leading you to do.  From this point, God will take you under His wing and lead you all the way.

  • Daily Pray for God's guidance in His will for your life.
  • Prayer for revival in your neighborhood, community and city and country.
  • Pray for your coworkers and employees and commit to living God's Word daily in the workplace as well as at home.
  • Study the Word and act on it as you learn it.  Us our Bible studies and other Word based studies if you don't have a church.
  • Trust God daily.  When you wake up, turn your day over to the Lord. Thank the Holy Spirit for guiding you.  The more you act upon the Word and God's guidance, the more guidance you will receive and the confidence to understand what you hear.

Jesus Praying For God's Will To Be Done

Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane before he was hung on the cross for our sins.

Matthew 26:42:  He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
