Agree With God's Word

Practice Speaking The Word

The Bible says in Galatians 6:7, Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. And in Proverbs 11:18 it says,The wicked man does deceptive work, but he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.

Take time to listen to what you’re saying. Do your words agree with God’s Word?

Numbers 13:31 “When the twelve spies returned from searching the promised land, they said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.

That was the report they brought back—at least ten of them that is. The other two, Joshua and Caleb, had this to say,

Numbers 14:9 “Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them”

They all saw the same things in the land of Canaan, but only Joshua and Caleb chose to agree with God. The Lord had previously told them that He would give them victory and that they would be able to drive out the inhabitants of the land.

The ten spies (along with all Israel) died without ever possessing what God had promised. Only two men from that generation entered into Canaan and possessed the land. I think you can guess who they were–Joshua and Caleb. The only two who agreed with the declarations of God — God’s Word.

Agree With God’s Word Always For Success With God and In Life

We still have God’s Word today, the Bible. God is still speaking to us through His Word and from within our hearts through that still small voice, always gently leading us to victory.

Take time to read scripture and then act upon it as you learn it.  Practice this every day with one or two scriptures that say you can have something you need.  Catch yourself offguard by playing back what you say to others or how you speak.  If your worlds aren’t expressing God’s Words, you’ll need to make an effort to speak words of victory.

For instance, I used to speak very negatively.  I had many changes to make when I started reading the Bible.  I started playing back in my mind what I was saying to people.  I was shocked that even when I had a positive thought, I would agree with someone who was making negative statements so that I wouldn’t hurt their feelings.  And I made plenty of negative statements on my own.  I wasn’t doing them any favors or myself so I started changing my speaking habits to match scripture instead of my feelings.

It doesn’t take that long to let God’s Word dominate your speaking.  Scripture has life and once you let it get into your heart or spirit it begins to dominate your life to create what it was set to accomplish.

Isaiah 55:11 (ASV)  1so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
